Signing of the Agreement between the General Prosecutor’s Office and the Centre for International Legal Cooperation
Today, 14 September 2023, the Acting Prosecutor General, Mr Ion Munteanu, and the Deputy Director of the Centre for International Legal Cooperation, Mr Eric Vincken, signed the Agreement on the co-financing modalities of the Eurojust Liaison Prosecutor of the Republic of Moldova.
The Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Moldova, represented by the General Prosecutor’s Office, and the Centre for International Legal Cooperation (CILC) agreed to cooperate in the implementation of key aspects of justice reform in the Republic of Moldova. In this context, the CILC expressed its willingness to support and participate by co-financing the travel expenses of the Liaison Prosecutor seconded to Eurojust with a view to strengthening judicial cooperation in criminal matters between the Republic of Moldova and EU Member States.
Acting Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu thanked the representative of the Centre for International Legal Cooperation for his willingness to support the Prosecutor’s Office in order to efficiently achieve its goals and tasks and strengthen international relations.
The Centre for International Legal Cooperation (CILC) is an organisation based in The Hague, the Netherlands, which promotes the rule of law by initiating and implementing international legal cooperation projects. It consists of legal experts from different countries who find solutions to a variety of challenges within developing legal systems. The CILC has a practice of co-funding Liaison Prosecutors and from other third countries that have concluded agreements with Eurojust, especially in the Balkan area.
