The 61-year-old accused who shot dead a man in Calarasi district sent to the dock
The Prosecutor’s Office of the district of Calarasi has completed the criminal prosecution and sent to court the criminal case against a 61-year-old man accused of premeditated murder committed by means dangerous to the life and health of several persons (Article 145(2)(a), (m) of the Criminal Code).
According to the indictment filed by the prosecutors, on 25 June 2023, at around 20:40, the accused, being in the city of Calarasi, on a street near his home, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, in the presence of several people, initiated an argument with two men.
Subsequently, being verbally offended, the accused threatened to shoot the two men to death. In order to carry out his criminal intent, he immediately returned to his home and took from his safe the “Altay” model semi-automatic handgun that he legally owned. He loaded the gun with 8 cartridges, as well as took an electro-shooter. With them, shortly afterwards, he returned to the place where the same 2 men and their relatives were staying. The accused, approached at a distance of about 4m from the given group of people and, without warning, fired a shot into the head of one of the men, who died on the spot.
The defendant was remanded in custody. He pleads not guilty.
