Dragalin: AP conducted 33 searches with the assistance of the FBI

This morning, June 4, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office conducted 33 searches as part of a joint investigation between the Republic of Moldova and France with the assistance of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

An alleged corruption scheme is being investigated, in which public figures from the Republic of Moldova and other countries received bribes for preventing Interpol from publishing “red notices” against internationally wanted criminals from different countries, tv8.md reports.

Veronica Dragalin reported that 4 people were detained for 72 hours in this case. Digital devices and related documents were seized.

According to investigators, the scheme involved an international criminal organization with ties to Russia, Ukraine and other countries, which allegedly paid bribes to obtain information about the status of “red notices.” The US Secret Service, FBI and UK National Crime Agency provided intelligence relevant to the case.

The investigation continues to establish all the details of the case.
