Efros: The number of police and carabinieri in the regions will be increased
The number of police officers and the General Inspectorate of the Carabinieri located directly in the country’s regions will be increased, and their tasks will be very clearly distributed so that their intervention can be faster.
This was announced by Ziarul de Garda, Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros, radiomoldova.md reports.
He clarified that there is a concept for the regionalization of these institutions, that is, reorganization through the creation of regional departments, which must be finalized, and then a draft decision on this matter will be submitted to the Government. “We are at the stage of finalizing the concept. It will be finalized, it will be approved, a government decision will be presented, after which we will put regionalization into effect.
We are also working together with the 112 Service to reduce time, we have already developed a concept for restructuring and rethinking this process. We want to have more integrated dispatch centers, last year we managed to introduce another integrated dispatch center, which requires the presence of all actors in one room: police, rescuers and doctors, thus we manage to reduce reaction time and transmit information to respond much more quickly to an incident or provide the support that citizens request,” the minister said.
Let us recall that the Minister of the Interior, Adrian Efros, appointed in July 2023, announced at the beginning of his mandate that one of the priorities is to reduce the intervention time in the event of events and incidents to 15 minutes.
