Assets worth around one million lei seized by the NAC’s Criminal Asset Recovery Agency
Three means of transport, one residential and one non-residential building, one building plot and cash, worth a total of about one million lei, were seized by the NAC’s Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (ARBI) last week. They were seized on the basis of delegations received from the NAC’s Directorate General for Criminal Prosecutions, the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organised Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) and the NAC’s Southern Territorial Directorate General. Currently, the Agency is executing 90 delegations on 62 criminal cases involving 129 subjects with procedural status.
In addition, the Directorate General for Operational Assurance has carried out 9 forensic expert reports. Prosecution officers proposed 4 criminal cases for referral and opened 1 criminal case. At the moment, the NAC’s prosecution body is handling 400 cases.
The Legislation Directorate has received 31 draft legislative acts for expert appraisal and has submitted 20 expert reports and 24 opinions to the authors. At the moment, work is being done on 36 materials received from the authorities.
The Analytical Directorate has carried out 2 operational reviews and initiated 5, another 103 studies are in procedure. The representative of the NAC Legal Service has participated in 15 court hearings and the Directorate of Professional Integrity Testing has issued 124 integrity records.
The Anti-Corruption Education Directorate carried out 12 information and awareness-raising activities on the risks and consequences of involvement in corruption.
The national anti-corruption hotline received 30 calls. At the same time, 1348 materials were registered in the Centre’s registry.
There are 7 persons in prisons, arrested in NAC cases, and one person is placed in the isolation centre.
