Two cars, several premises and cash, worth over 3 million lei, seized by the NAC’s CARA
Two units of transport, cash and several residential premises were seized by the Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (CARA) of the NAC last week.
The assets were seized in criminal cases, initiated by the NAC and the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, for money laundering and fraud. Also, financial means in different currencies were deposited on the Agency’s treasury accounts – the equivalent of 100 thousand lei. During the reference period, the CARA evaluated 5 real estates and issued 4 advisory opinions.
During the reporting period, the NAC subdivisions also focused on other current activities. 8 judicial expertises were carried out, 5 strategic analyzes were completed and 17 anti-corruption expert reports were submitted to the authors.
36 phone calls were received at the National Anticorruption Hotline, 1218 materials were registered in the NAC Chancellery, and the Integrity Testing Directorate issued 162 integrity records.
3 people are held in the penitentiary institutions, pre-arrested in the NAC cases.
