A Memorandum of Understanding in the field of preventing and combating corruption was signed by the Director of NAC and the Director of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) of Ukraine 

A Memorandum of Understanding in the field of preventing and combating corruption was signed by the Director of the National Anti-corruption Centre – Mr. Iulian RUSU and the Head of the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine – Mr. Oleksii SUKHACHOV.

The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding is to ensure close cooperation between the two institutions, including through the exchange of information and best practices in the field of preventing and combatting corruption, investigating and denouncing acts related to corruption. The official event took place in Chernivtsi, Ukraine.

By signing the agreement, the parties expressed their interest in cooperation in the following priority areas: the exchange of information on legislation, studies and other materials on the prevention, detection, resolution and investigation of crimes, as well as internal investigations; the exchange of best practices regarding the investigation of crimes and the conduct of internal investigations; exchange of knowledge on cutting-edge technological solutions, innovations, IT applications and other tools, used by each participant in the fight against criminal activities.

In order to ensure the effective prevention and detection of criminal acts, the parties intend to encourage and support direct cooperation through the implementation of joint projects and measures in accordance with the terms and conditions to be jointly agreed. Also, according to the provisions of the document, the participants will guarantee the protection of the classified information received, and when transmitting and using the restricted information, appropriate organizational and technical measures will be implemented to protect it against destruction, modification, accidental or illegal disclosure, as well as against any other illegal processing.

 The agreement was concluded for an indefinite period.
