Thousands of women’s sweaters from China stopped at customs before reaching Moldova
Nearly 4,000 women’s sweaters, made of synthetic materials but bearing a luxury brand, most likely counterfeit, were stopped by Romanian customs officers before arriving in the Republic of Moldova.
Customs inspectors from Constanța Sud – Regional Customs Directorate Bucharest discovered 3,880 synthetic women’s sweaters in a container arriving from China and destined for a trading company based in the Republic of Moldova.
They were bearing the brand name “Valentino” and were suspected of being counterfeit.
The goods were seized and their value, if they had been sold on the market at the retail price of an original product, is approximately 3,900,000 lei.
