NON will check the property of the former head of the airport customs post

The National Integrity Authority (NIO) registered the appeal, which was disseminated through the electronic notification system in accordance with the provisions of the law.

The appeal concerns control over compliance with the legal regime of the property and personal interests of Alexandru Vakre, the former head of the customs post at Chisinau International Airport, noi.md reports with reference to telegraph.md

According to the text of the notice, in 2022 the Wakre family acquired two plots of land. The first plot of 0.048 hectares includes a house of 139 m² and was purchased for 200,000 euros. On the second plot of 0.1138 hectares there are two buildings, the cost of which the owners estimate at 165,000 euros.

The Vacra family also owns land with an area of 6 hectares, valued at 70,000 lei, and in 2015 they acquired another 0.0678 hectares of land for 473,000 lei. Declarations of assets and personal interests indicate that the Wakre family owns two houses, three apartments, a garage and two cars, the value of which is not disclosed, while mentioning that the owners of the assets are relatives.

Alexandre Vacra’s reported income includes €60,000 received from a family event and a contractual loan of €450,000 initially due in 2021, with an extended maturity until 2030.

The integrity inspector decided to initiate a procedure to verify property and personal interests in terms of the validity of financial accessibility and the availability of funds in national currency reflected in property declarations. Thus, control was initiated over the property and personal interests of the former head of the customs post at Chisinau International Airport, Alexandru Vacre, in order to ensure compliance with the legal regime for declaring property and personal interests.

At the end of April this year, after searches carried out by NAC employees, the head of the customs post at Chisinau International Airport, Alexandre Vacre, submitted his resignation.
