ISS will be able to initiate deprivation of citizenship: bill adopted

The bill, which gives the Information and Security Service (ISS) the power to consider the issue of deprivation of citizenship of subjects of international restrictions, was adopted by parliament in its final reading.

According to the project, in the case of subjects of international restrictions who are citizens of the Republic of Moldova, the ISS will consider the validity of deprivation of citizenship and, if necessary, refer the issue to the Public Services Agency to initiate the procedure for deprivation of citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, reports ipn.md

The authors also proposed to include the State Tax Service and the Public Services Agency in the list of bodies to which the Information and Security Service will send orders to approve or change the list of persons associated with subjects of international restrictions.

Another provision of the bill concerns the provision of additional powers to the Information and Security Service, which, with information support from the Service for the Prevention and Combating of Money Laundering, will compile and approve a list of legal entities in respect of which there is documented information that they are under the control of a person in respect of which restrictions apply, or have as an actual beneficiary a person in respect of whom restrictions apply.
