BAMIN 2023 Steering Committee meeting held today at the National Anti-Corruption Centre

The meeting of the Steering Committee of the Balkan Network of Asset Management Agencies for Seized Criminal Assets, a project funded by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), was held at the National Anti-Corruption Centre on 19 September to discuss organizational aspects of the Network aimed at setting future strategic directions, assessing achievements, as well as prioritizing the results of the Group’s activities.

The meeting was opened by NAC Director Iulian Rusu: “It is a great honour for me to welcome here, in Chisinau, the representatives of the Balkan Network of Agencies for the Management of Seized Criminal Assets. We are going to have a very productive week, because tomorrow the BANIM 2023 Annual General Meeting starts, where we will join our efforts to increase efficiency in the management of criminal assets, to find solutions to improve the operational management of cross-border assets among our agencies. I wish everyone a great working experience.”

BAMIN Senior Advisor Jill Thomas thanked the Director for hosting the Steering Group Meeting as well as the 2023 Annual General Meeting in Moldova this week. She highlighted the effective work of the platform and its potential expansion.

All participants in the Committee meeting positively appreciated the initiatives proposed at the Steering Group Meeting.

The 2023 BAMIN Annual General Assembly is meeting for the first time under the chairmanship of the Republic of Moldova. It is the first time that a country from outside the Balkan area takes over the presidency of this international structure.
