Mihailov-Moraru discussed with Dragalin the implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission

Minister of Justice Veronica Mihailov-Moraru met with the head of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office Veronica Dragalin and her deputies.

The meeting took place to discuss the measures taken, which are within the competence of the Administration, to implement the recommendations of the European Commission, reports infotag.md

According to the press service of the ministry, they also spoke about “the importance of stable work on the consideration of cases, including through court decisions, the consequences of introducing specialization of judges in the Chisinau Court, the contribution of the Administrative Office to the consideration of corruption cases noted on the EU electronic platform.”

The meeting discussed provisions of the recently adopted criminal procedure legislation and criminal legislation currently under consideration in parliament that are significant for the prosecutor’s office.

The Minister noted the importance of justice reform and the fight against corruption, which play a central role in negotiations with the EU. She confirmed the need for interdepartmental cooperation to fulfill the obligations assumed by Moldova on the way to membership in the European Union.

The meeting was related to the investigation of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office against Tatiana Raducanu, who was forced to resign from the pre-vetting commission.
