A woman, together with her concubine, assaulted her mother and son. Both perpetrators – sentenced to prison

Prosecutors from the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor’s Office led the criminal investigation and represented the state prosecution in court in a criminal case initiated for the commission of the crime of domestic violence, which resulted in a conviction.

Thus, by the sentence of the Chisinau Court, Buiucani headquarters, dated October 26, 2023, a 49-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man were found guilty of committing the crime of domestic violence, being sentenced to 3 and 5 years in prison, serving the sentence in a semi-closed penitentiary.

The prosecutors charged that: between 2019 and 2022, the man, acting in concert with his concubine, systematically and intentionally, being at the woman’s home in the suburbs of Chisinau, repeatedly initiated conflicts and quarrels with the defendant’s mother and the latter’s son, in order to impose their will and control over the victims, threatening them verbally, using insults, and applying multiple blows to the injured parties on different parts of the body.

At the same time, on September 26, 2022, at approximately 09:30, the defendant, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, together and by prior agreement with the defendant, aware of the illegal and harmful nature of their actions, being in the yard of the woman’s house, without reason , applying psychological violence, using a “Floberta” type revolver, threatened the concubine’s mother and her son with death.

As a result, they caused the old woman, according to the forensic expert report, “generalized anxiety, neurosis, high level of stress, high level of emotional excitability, inner tension”, and the 10-year-old minor – “psychological trauma manifested by : anxiety , feeling of humiliation, asthenia, isolation, psycho-emotional tension, feeling of unhappiness, insecurity, state of stress, depressive tendencies, fear of aggressor parents, these being in correlation with domestic violence against him, which also includes the threat of a gun to his own is a person”.

The sentence is not final and can be appealed within 15 days at the Chisinau Court of Appeal.

Note: A person accused of committing a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a final court decision.
