Stamate: NCBC needs to be cleansed of toxic factors

The Chairperson of the Legal, Appointments and Immunities Commission, Olesia Stamate, has admitted that the National Anti-Corruption Centre (NCBC) needs to be cleansed.

According to Stamate, about 40 employees have been “asked” to leave or they have already left the system, deschide.md reported

“I recognise that the institution needs to be cleaned up. About 40 staff have been asked to leave or have already left, but there are still people who should leave the system. The NCBC needs to be cleaned of toxic factors,” Olesia Stamate said in a programme on JurnalTV.

Referring to the current situation in the NCBC, Stamate said that after the resignation of Julian Rusu, the last thing she would like to see is an interim head of the NCBC. She also added that the law on the NCBC states that the powers of its deputies are terminated with the resignation of the head of the agency.
