INFORMATION: additional security measures in the country and at the borders of the Republic of Moldova

From today, October 19, 2023, at 20:00, additional security measures will come into force in the country and at the borders of the Republic of Moldova, in order to ensure public order and security, border security and the safety of citizens. The increase in activities is in the context of the escalation of risks to world security against the background of the war in Israel, the statements of the leaders of extremist organizations addressed to the international community, the maintenance of the insecurity environment in the conflict zone and the operative situation.

The intensification of the measures will be done by increasing the operational capacities, cooperation and exchange of operational information between the security authorities of the statute, in order to prevent possible attempts to destabilize the legal order.

At the decision of the risk management group of the Chisinau International Airport, only passengers, based on the presentation of the ticket and the travel document, will be allowed in the airport premises, as well as the personnel performing work duties, as well as the members of the aircraft crews. At the same time, access through the middle gate of the airport will be suspended, and it will be possible to enter the Airport through access gates no. 1 and no. 3. Respectively, in order to exclude traffic jams in front of the airport, but also to streamline the flow of passengers, it is requested to show up at the Airport, at least three hours before the flight of the planned route. 

In the same way, Border Police employees will carry out operational activities to intensify state border control and security measures at all state border crossing points, including Chisinau International Airport.

To avoid the creation of traffic jams and discomfort for traffic participants, on national roads, Police crews will ensure the flow of road traffic. 

In the future, concrete actions aimed at ensuring the security of the citizens and the state of the Republic of Moldova will be implemented.
