NAC’s ARBI issued seizure orders on assets worth over 5.2 million lei last week

The NAC’s Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (ARBI) issued seizure orders, based on delegations from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, the NAC’s Northern Territorial Directorate General and the Border Police, on 4 assets worth over 5.2 million lei last week. Currently, ARBI is examining 102 delegations on 73 criminal cases involving 152 subjects.

The Directorate General for Operational Assurance has also carried out 10 forensic examinations, including 4 forensic and 6 IT, with a further 54 examinations in progress. Prosecution officers opened one criminal case and proposed for referral 3 criminal cases. At the moment, the NAC’s prosecution service is handling 375 cases.

The Legislation Directorate has received 16 draft legislative acts for expertise and has submitted 11 expert reports and 9 opinions to the authors. At the moment, work is in progress on 22 materials received from the authorities.

The Analytical Directorate has carried out 8 operational analyses. At the same time, 4 operational and 2 strategic reviews have been initiated, another 101 studies are in progress. The representative of the NAC Legal Service attended 18 court hearings and the Directorate of Professional Integrity Testing issued 105 integrity records.

The Anti-Corruption Education Directorate carried out 7 information and awareness-raising activities on the risks and consequences of involvement in corruption.

The national anti-corruption hotline received 40 calls. At the same time, 1049 materials were registered in the Centre’s registry.

There are 3 persons in prisons, arrested in NAC cases.
