Joint efforts to combat trafficking in human beings18 September 2023
Today, 18 September 2023, Minister of Interior Affairs Adrian Efros and State Secretary of the Interior Ministry Daniella Misail-Nichitin participated in the opening of the first edition of the National Simulation Exercise “Combating Trafficking in Human Beings: Strengthening Cooperation between Institutions through Simulation Exercise”, organized by the OSCE from 18-22 September this year.
Discussions focused on the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in combating trafficking in human beings, standard operating procedures, as well as the challenges of identifying victims of trafficking in human beings, especially at the borders of the Republic of Moldova, and in the context of the war in the neighbouring country.
In particular, the particularities of providing support to victims of trafficking and the efforts undertaken by the authorities to combat and prevent this phenomenon were analysed.
It should be noted that the training exercise is attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, as well as national and international experts in the field of combating trafficking in human beings.
