Minister of Justice had a meeting with the Romanian Ambassador to Moldova
21 August 2023, Chisinau – Minister of Justice Veronica Mihailov-Moraru met with the Romanian Ambassador to Chisinau, H.E. Cristian-Leon Turcanu.
The officials exchanged views on the status of projects launched in the field of justice and those underway, despite the difficulties encountered.
In the context of discussions on the fight against corruption, Minister Mihailov-Moraru said that it is a consistent approach on the part of the institutions in the field and it is important to strengthen and make their work more efficient. Especially as this is one of the recommendations of the European Commission, in the context of obtaining the status of candidate country for accession to the European Union.
The Minister of Justice also discussed with the Romanian Ambassador to Moldova the upcoming edition of the Moldova Support Platform donor conference to be organised in Chisinau. “This demonstrates once again that the Republic of Moldova enjoys the support of external partners, who give assurances that they will continue to support the development of our country”, said Veronica Mihailov-Moraru.
Finally, the Minister of Justice thanked the Ambassador of Romania for the unconditional and continuous support offered to the Republic of Moldova by his country. She also appreciated the openness and friendly relations between the two countries.
