Active summer holidays. 20 pupils from Cantemir visited the National Anticorruption Center
In spite of the fact that they are on summer vacation, a group of pupils from the 6th – 10th grades from Cantemir decided to visit the institution whose role is to prevent and fight corruption – the National Anticorruption Center. The children were curious to see how the institution works and how they can personally contribute to promoting the climate of integrity.
The visit started with a lecture held by the anti-corruption officers. The head of the Anticorruption Education Directorate (AED) of the NAC, Ion Pruteanu, addressed a series of relevant topics, urging the young people to be honest, starting from school. “First of all, I want to emphasize the importance of remaining honest and invite you to think about a future legal career, and after graduating from university, I encourage you to join the team of the National Anticorruption Center.”
The head of the AED spoke to the young people about the ways to report acts of corruption, mentioning the number of the National Anticorruption Hotline 080055555. At the same time, the young people were explained the difference between admissible and inadmissible gifts, and when they try to give a gift to an official, they should be prepared that they may be refused.
The lesson was held in an interactive format, as the children showed a high level of knowledge and interest in the field of preventing and fighting corruption.
The study visit was organized at the request of the Center for Educational and Community Development (CECD) within the project “Involving Youth in Promoting Anti-Corruption in Cantemir District” and is aimed at promoting intolerance towards corruption among the young generation, increasing the degree of civic responsibility and denouncing acts of corruption.
