All defendants in the criminal case of murder in Codru Orhei have been released from punishment
All those involved in the case of the death of Alexei Veretco in Orhei Codri 12 years ago are at large and released from punishment by the decision of the Chisinau Court of Appeal.
This follows from the decision of the Chisinau Court of Appeal of May 24, which ZdG analyzed.
Thus, Ion Corcodel, the only person convicted in this case, as well as Vasile Cojocaru, were released from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution. Democrat Constantin Tutu, as well as his friends Oleg Pruteanu and Dmitry Kolomeichuk, were released from execution due to the “offset of amnesty.”
In April 2012, Constantin Tsutu took part in a fight with gunfire near a restaurant near Orhei. As a result, 42-year-old Alexey Veretko died.
After the man who allegedly killed Veretko surrendered, the other three suspects, including Constantin Tsutu, were cleared of murder charges and criminal charges were opened on hooliganism charges.
The trial began in 2013 and the case has gone through several courts since then. The case has been in the Chisinau Court of Appeal for more than three years. All defendants, including Constantin Tsutu, plead not guilty.
