The file regarding a woman from Fălești, accused of violating road traffic safety rules, which caused the death of two people, referred to the court

The Fălești district prosecutor’s office completed the criminal investigation and sent a criminal case to the court, regarding a 36-year-old woman, accused of violating road traffic safety rules, which caused the death of two people (art. 264 paragraph .(5) of the Criminal Code).

The prosecutors accused her of the fact that, on October 30, 2022, at around 10:25 a.m., the accused, driving the “Honda CRV” model car, traveling on the R-17 route, from the direction of the village of Pîrlița , rl Ungheni in the direction of the town. You are violating the provisions of point 45 subsection (l) of the Road Traffic Regulation, according to which: “the driver must drive the vehicle in accordance with the established speed limit, constantly taking into account the following factors: a) the psychophysiological state that influences attention and reaction ; b) driving dexterity that would allow him to foresee dangerous situations; c) the technical condition of the vehicle and the particularities of the load; d) the road situation”, point 45 subsection (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation which provides that: “if obstacles appear within the visibility limit that can be observed by the driver, he must reduce speed or even stop, for not to endanger the safety of the traffic”, he went out on the opposite lane, where he collided with the “Volkswagen Passat” model car, driven by a 59-year-old man, who had a 65-year-old woman as a passenger , a 39-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman. As a result of the impact, the driver died on the spot, and the 65-year-old woman died at the hospital. The 39-year-old man and the 36-year-old woman suffered bodily injuries, which according to the forensic report qualify as medium bodily harm with long-term health impairment.

The accused pleads not guilty.

If her guilt in committing the crime will be proven, she risks imprisonment for a maximum term of up to 10 years, with the cancellation of the right to drive means of transport.

Note: A person accused of committing a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a final court decision.
