The court rejected the prosecutor’s request in the Andronaki case

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office’s request to disqualify Judge Georgiy Balan in a criminal case in which Vladimir Andronaki and Anatoly Blonsky are being investigated on suspicion of money laundering was rejected by Judge Tatiana Postolaki.

Andronachi noted that he does not want to remove the judge, since the prosecutors’ request is “illegal and unfounded,” and his lawyer Natalia Bayram argues that the request is an attempt by prosecutors to delay the consideration of the case, notes noi.md with reference to zdg.md

Anti-corruption prosecutor Gheorghe Iapare noted that some decisions of Judge Balan, including “the closed nature of the hearings, the transfer of this case for merger with others, the decision to resume the judicial investigation” raise doubts about the impartiality of the judge

After the meeting on Monday, May 20, at which the petition to disqualify judge Georgiy Balan was supposed to be considered, it was postponed for a day. Judge Tatiana Postolaki decided to reject the petition as unfounded. The decision cannot be appealed.
