Former head of the State Inspectorate Podarilov will be compensated for 60,000 lei for material damage
The Chisinau court partially satisfied the claim of the former head of the General Police Inspectorate (GIP), Yuri Podarilov, against the institution he once headed.
The court ordered the State Property Inspectorate to compensate for material damage in the amount of almost 60 thousand lei for non-payment of one-time benefits and unused vacations, writes Anticoruptie.
Last year, the court found a violation of at least six fundamental freedoms in Podarilov’s case and ordered him to recover 800 thousand lei in moral damage, as well as almost 500 thousand in material damage.
Yuri Podarilov was detained on February 24, 2017 based on a complaint and was detained for 13 months in prison No. 13. In 2018, Podarilov was sentenced to four years in prison. In 2019, he was released from custody by decision of the Supreme Court, which returned the case for a new trial. On June 17, 2021, the Supreme Court of Justice issued a verdict on the irrevocable acquittal of Podarilov.
