Sentenced to 10 years and 6 months in prison for non-consensual sexual acts on a 6-year-old girl

On November 3, 2023, prosecutors obtained a new conviction in a criminal case of sexual abuse against minors.

According to the sentence, a 34-year-old man was found guilty of committing acts of a non-consensual sexual nature, committed knowingly with regard to a person who has not reached the age of 14 (crime provided for by art. 172 para. (3) letter a) of the Penal Code) establishing a punishment in the form of 10 years and 6 months in prison, with the execution of the sentence in a closed penitentiary .

The court also ordered the application of the preventive measure – the preventive arrest, with the defendant being taken into custody from the courtroom. He left the court premises during the deliberations, being later detained by the police and placed in custody.

During the criminal investigation, it was established that the defendant, on July 20, 2020, during the afternoon, being near his home and being under the influence of alcohol, seeing his 6-year-old minor neighbor alone in the street, took – her in his arms and took her to his house.

Then, pursuing the goal of satisfying sexual desire, taking advantage of the victim’s inability to defend herself due to her young age, he committed non-consensual sexual acts on her .

The defendant pleaded not guilty.

The sentence is subject to appeal within 15 days.
