The Government approved the ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union regarding the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union
November 1, 2023, Chisinau- The Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft law on the ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union regarding the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union, signed in Chisinau on September 29, 2023.
The mission will contribute to strengthening the resilience of the security sector of the Republic of Moldova in the field of crisis management and hybrid threats.
Consequently, it aims to improve the field of cyber security and counter foreign information manipulation and interference.
We specify that the Republic of Moldova is officially a participating country in the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union, the strongest international cooperation network in the field of prevention, preparation and response to disasters and crisis management.
We mention that the project is correlated with the provisions of the National Development Strategy “European Moldova”, the Government’s activity program “Prosperous, safe, European Moldova”, international commitments, including the Republic of Moldova – European Union Association Agreement, as well as the commitments deriving from the statute candidate country for EU accession.
