Five Ukrainians were detained while attempting to illegally cross the border of Moldova

According to the Border Police, the violators were spotted using special thermal imaging equipment as they secretly traveled from Ukraine.

Four men were found in the area of responsibility of the Tokuz checkpoint, and the fifth was found in the Tudora checkpoint, reports deschide.md

After the arrest, the Ukrainians applied for asylum in the Republic of Moldova.

An investigation into the incident is underway to clarify all the circumstances.
