The head of the State Inspectorate, Viorel Cernautanu, claims that this measure is necessary to make it easier to identify the owners of the relevant numbers in the event of an investigation, reports ziua.md “We want any number, no matter how simple, to be purchased in such a way that we know exactly who bought it. There is no intention to interfere with privacy, but when this number comes up somewhere during the investigation, then we will have a more strategic and much faster starting point in the investigation process,” said the head of the ISU. According to Cernautanu, practice shows that the numbers received anonymously and which have become the object of recent investigations were purchased in Chisinau and activated in the Transnistrian region. “We understand perfectly well why these numbers were purchased by two or three people in very large quantities from all networks in Chisinau and ended up in the Transnistrian region,” added the head of the State Property Inspectorate.
