Delegation of INL representatives for Euro-Asian region held talks with MAI
MAI Secretary of State Andrei Chekoltan met with representatives of INL’s Euro-Asia Region Delegation to the United States.
During the discussions, the officials analyzed in detail the state of cooperation in the field of internal affairs, considering the assistance provided by the United States, the implementation of the “Roadmap” in the EU accession process, as well as current challenges related to countering hybrid threats. disinformation, trafficking of illegal substances and crisis management.
In doing so, the need for TETRA communication equipment was analyzed, which will reduce incident response times, using modern communication systems as a solution. In this sense, the MAI State Secretary emphasized that joint activities and exchange of best practices between the two states are important for the development of secure radio communication networks – TETRA.
Andrei Cecoltan expressed gratitude for the firm support of the US in the modernization of the internal affairs system and stressed the importance of the experience and assistance of the US partners in the implementation of democratic reforms for the benefit of the population.
Other topics of discussion focused on the need to diversify the instruments to strengthen border control, security and public order, emergency response, fight against organized crime, etc.
In this sense, the U.S. delegation gave assurances of further support to the MIA’s efforts through assistance projects aimed at supporting institutional modernization according to EU standards.
