Popshoy about ISS searches: The Ministry is cooperating with the investigation
Employees of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Information and Security Service conducted a search at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of a criminal investigation.
Prosecutors say no one has been detained and that details will be provided when the investigation allows. “The ministry is cooperating with the investigation,” Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi said, jurnal.md reports.
“Indeed, a number of procedural actions are currently underway, announced by the prosecutor’s office, but procedural status has not been assigned and arrests have not been made. I can assure you as the head of the institution that we are showing all openness and cooperation in the context of the ongoing investigation,” the minister said Mihai Popsoi.
On Tuesday evening, some Telegram channels wrote that the investigation was directed against the head of the consular department, Vasile Mircos, who was allegedly detained after searches in his house. Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi declined to comment.
“I have no right to disclose more information than the prosecutor’s office has released,” the foreign minister said.
The head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vasily Mirkos, previously worked as an adviser at the Moldovan Embassy in Germany, was the head of a department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and worked in the Department of Multilateral Cooperation.
