Acting Prosecutor General: I have no information about other victims of the suspect in the murder of a pregnant girl
Acting Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu reported new details in the case of the murder of a 19-year-old girl who disappeared after getting into a passing car in Orhei.
According to Munteanu, a criminal case has been opened for murder in the case of a pregnant girl who disappeared on April 12. The girl died from a traumatic brain injury, reports noi.md
“This is a tragic case. Initially, criminal prosecution was initiated on the basis of kidnapping. Thanks to the efforts of the police officers together with the prosecutor’s office, as well as volunteers, it was possible to find the victim’s body.
We have the first unofficial conclusions – a criminal case has been opened for murder. According to the preliminary information we have, the cause of death was traumatic brain injury. Experts will answer many questions if they determine other injuries associated with the death. It is necessary to find out whether there are psychotropic substances in the victim’s blood,” said Ion Munteanu.
When asked if there were any other victims who suffered at the hands of the 45-year-old suspect, who was arrested by law enforcement agencies, Ion Munteanu said that he did not have such information.
Let us remind you that the body of a 19-year-old girl who disappeared in Orhei was discovered by a group of police on April 20 near the village of Stari Kitcani, where the main suspect is from.
The pregnant girl was last seen on the evening of April 12. She was returning to the hostel and got into a passing car. When it became known about her disappearance, the driver’s identity was established and he was detained. The man refused to cooperate with the investigation.
Earlier, information appeared in the media that signs of torture were found on the body of a young pregnant woman. Anna-Maria was hit several times with a hard object. At the same time, there were traces of attempted strangulation on the girl’s body and cigarette burns on her hands. And on the girl’s left hand there are marks from a syringe. There are also traces of sexual violence.
