Fulger takes part in the Chisinau – Bucharest ultramarathon. The President addressed the participants
Employees of the Special Purpose Police Brigade (SPB) Fulger are taking part in the international ultramarathon Rubicon 2024 edition, which started on Friday, March 22, in the center of Chisinau.
According to the police, as part of the ultramarathon, participants will cover a distance of 478 kilometers between Chisinau and Bucharest. Rubicon 2024 edition is the first cross-border race in the history of Moldova
The police will have to overcome several stages, day and night, with distances from 7 to 15 km, competing with 200 other runners from Moldova and Romania. The route is planned to be covered in 52 hours, and the marathon will end on March 24 in Bucharest.
The event was organized by the Sports Association SPORTER with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova, in partnership with the National Sports Agency of Romania.
President of Moldova Maia Sandu joined the opening of the first ultramarathon Rubicon 2024 Chișinău-București, which will pass through the territory of Moldova and Romania. In her address, she stated that such events promote mutual understanding and friendship between the residents of the two countries.
“This ultramarathon is not just about covering a physical distance. Every extra kilometer brings us closer to our European values and aspirations. Each participant is an ambassador of hope and unshakable will,” the president said.
