Goods worth about 11 million lei, seized by the ARBI of CNA, last week
The Agency for the Recovery of Criminal Assets (ARBI) of CNA seized assets worth about 11 million lei, last week, based on the delegations of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office and the Customs Service.
Among them is a residential room, estimated at around 340 thousand lei and cash of 10.6 million lei, unavailable in a case of abuse of office and smuggling. At the same time, the non-disposal of 400 thousand lei was confirmed by closings on the seizures previously applied by the Agency.
At the moment, ARBI has under examination 101 delegations, on 72 criminal cases, regarding 143 subjects.
The Agency for the Recovery of Criminal Assets (ARBI) is an autonomous subdivision within the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) that is in charge of conducting parallel financial investigations, the evaluation, administration and capitalization of confiscated criminal assets, as well as the record of these assets.
The agency states that the process of recovery of criminal assets is considered completed once the court adopts the confiscation decision, after the conviction of the person.
