Mocanu suspended the chairmanship of the party in order not to file a declaration
The chairman of the Republica Unirii party, Sergiu Mocanu, resigned from his position in order not to submit a declaration of assets, as required by the new amendments to the Law on the Assessment of Institutional Integrity.
The new amendment stipulates that chairmen, vice-chairmen of political parties and members of the central executive bodies of political parties are required to submit annual declarations, writes zdg.md
“I resigned from the post of party chairman along with my colleagues, members of the Politburo, who also have to file declarations. This is a form of protest against the law that obliges us to file declarations. I think the time will come when we will laugh, but now there is only crying,” – Mocanu said in the program Puterea a patra on channel N4.
Mocanu noted that he cannot declare his wealth, since his accounts have been frozen for several years.
“I have officially suspended my position as chairman for a short time, but I remain the leader of the party,” Mocanu added.
