The General Prosecutor’s Office conducted searches in the file regarding the illegal seizure of the forest fund from the Durlești forest massif
On the basis of a criminal case, the General Prosecutor’s Office jointly with the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases, with the training of collaborators from the “Fulger” special purpose police brigade, representatives of the Ministry of the Environment, the “Moldsilva” Agency, the Environmental Protection Inspectorate, at on 05.10.2023, they carried out a search on the land of the forest fund in the Durlești forest massif, the property of the state, which was fenced off and seized illegally by some natural persons, causing a particularly large amount of damage. The environmental authorities’ notifications served as the basis for starting the criminal investigation.
According to the materials of the criminal case, it was found that, in the period 2015-2021, in violation of the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, the Forestry Code, the Regulation on the lease of the forest fund for the purposes of hunting and/or recreation, approved by Government Decision no. 187 of 20 February 2008, some people, without the consent of the lessee of the “Moldsilva” Agency, in the absence of the positive opinion issued by the central environmental body of the public administration, carried out unauthorized construction works and illegal placement on the surface of their land of various constructions, engineering networks (houses of vacation, garage, pergolas, engineering water and sewage networks, etc.).
As a result of the described illegal actions, damage to the state and the environment was found to be particularly large, estimated at – 2,348,361.40 lei.
